Description
Panicum Censation™ Cardinal
Panicum Cardinal
Beautifull blue grass, with purpurred tones. Panicum virgatum Cardinal.
Intense blue-grey leaves with cardinalred tips, fairly compact (0.90-1.20) upright and very stable.
During the summer and autumn the purple-red hues increase and later in autumn the plant discolours even further in several shades.
Cardinal starts blooming in August. The inflorescences are airy and graceful in shape with gray flower heads tinged with red.
Panicum Cardinal is perfectly hardy.
The plant will retain its stems and seed heads well into winter most years, providing a good contrast tot the dark seed heads.
Even in winter, this grass gives the garden a lot of structure.
Cardinal can be used as an ornamental plant in many places in the garden. The ornamental value is of a subtle elegance.
It will bring a flowerbed a picturesque effect.
